Last night I was at a restaurant and turned around to see this guy eating alone. I thought, hmm
heās eating alone, Iām eating alone should I say hello? Then the bartender started talking to me and then I was immersed in conversation. Love.
Love seems to be a common denominator that appears to be an equating factor in life regarding societal standards. Not everyone can afford a Ferrari, but everyone can afford to fall in love (well almost everyone, excluding those who have a psychological disorder that doesnāt allow them to) but for the average individual, weāre capable of falling in love.
What a unique leveling system, love. From the poorest to the richest, we all have that one feeling. The euphoric feeling. This one feeling allows us to connect at a deeper level empathizing with another individual allowing us to feel āconnectedā That connection, bond, feeling enables us to do the most extraordinary actions and the most destructive actions to ourselves and others.
Even when we look at sacred text, we look at love being the denominator of Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, Ruth and Boaz, and the greatest of them all ā Jacob and Rachel. Our sacred text is littered with love and it makes sense even from a historical perspective how important such a feeling is to us as humans. After all, what other feeling is as enduring, uplifting, and sacrificial?
love, the common denominator
